If I remember correctly DOH-CMB-DOH (UL217/218) use an A330. So plenty of seats. I would be very surprised if any one were to receive an op up on this route. My upgrade bid CMB-DOH in early April for $150 was successful.
As was DOH-CMB in early March for $180. Both were originally R class economy tickets (100% credit to Asia Miles)
