Well, after politely pushing back on the first "offer" and highlighting the rate gaps during my reward stay period the second offer from the Reservation Mgr is more in line with what I find acceptable (175++ USD per night). Also we can stay in the upgraded Club Terrace Suite which is a courtesy upgrade to be fair. Works for me for now tough I'll keep an eye on rates, especially for the Amb Cert booking.
Appreciate the tip that asking for supplement upon check in can be cheaper, but the grief I could get from Misses if it doesn't work out for some reason won't be worth it

1. well done, even at checkin lounge upsell is not offered much lower, maybe 150++ at the low end
2. Maybe some newbie reservation staff member stupidly/(wrongly) quoted lounge upsell as $175++ pppn ( x2 persons in your room = 350++) versus a more expected $175++ per room (max 2 persons)
