It has still been pending, but I got a letter in the mail today asking for a 4506-T form. So I will submit that and hope for the best. I'm hoping I do this once, and will be helpful for all future apps.
It won't. For a while my wife was getting that request every time she applied. Then eventually they stopped asking, but we filled that form out at least a half dozen times.
