On the subject of Airbus and SQ:

Is Airbus running itself out of SQ's fleet? First, the A343 performed so poorly over the euro-Asia routes. The engines could not provide enough thrust to reach higher altitutde to fly over the severe weather conditions on those routes. ( I read this from a trade journal)

Second, I also heard about the A345's weight problem and the plane has not achieved the advertised performance. It appears SIN-LAX and SIN-EWR are going to be permanent routes, so why SQ has not exercised the options it currently holds on the A345?

Now we heard about A380 being overweight by as much as 10 tons. It will be interested to see its performance and operating cost.

Interesting, No idea if its true, but I met an SQ pilot last week in HKG and he mentioned that SQ was very unhappy with the 345's ?? anyhow lets here from some the experts here... Just wondering if AC will get rebates on the 345 or did they get rebates on the 343?
