Paid for a stay, checked out and was told I was a no-show!
...and you are standing in front of them checking out.
Checked in the day before, received keys, got a room, stayed in the room, had breakfast, was checking out and was told "you cancelled that reservation".
No we didn't, we are standing here with keys in hand ready to give back to you - how can you say the room was cancelled??
Then he said, well it doesn't matter, whether you paid as a guest or get charged as a no-show it's the same price.
Sorry, but it matters VERY much! As a no-show we won't get points, and that is not going to happen!
Then it gets interesting...
5 days have gone by, and the reservation has not posted, does not show under cancellations, does not show under past stays, and has NOT been charged to our credit card, either live or pending. It's like it never happened.
We're perfectly happy not to pay and not get any points, a free stay. But we did stay. And we fully expected to pay.
The morning we checked out we were told the manager (who wasn't in yet) would call us with his findings and he never did.
