A word of caution: If you flights have gone unconfirmed, call asap to rebook and don't wait too long, because when the flights go unconfirmed you also loose your seats on the second, long haul leg (DOH-XXX) as well, and you may get rebooked on different flights with long layovers.
That's a solid point! I was surprised by this very fact last week when my MUC-DOH-CAI flight went 'unconfirmed' and my MUC-DOH was also placed into unconfirmed. Luckily, I caught the issue on the first day and was able to retain my J class seats while they moved my end point to BEY.
