So you did or didn't fly through London? Above, you said that you flew that route with the exception of flying through London. But now you're saying LGW and LHR? Not to be difficult, but you can see how we might be confused, yes?
Again, what routing did you fly? I'm totally confused, now.
The way I read this is:
The original routing was SIN-DOH-LAX with QR in J with a stopover in DOH (surprisingly he didn't receive a boarding pass for the second leg when checking in in SIN).
Then after coming back to the airport in DOH after the stopover he was told that he wouldn't get a boarding pass for the flight DOH-LAX due to overbooking.
QR offered DOH-YUL-LAX (which was declined due to the YUL-LAX fight with AC being with an A320). Neither DOH-JFK-LAX nor DOH-PHL-LAX worked due to a lack of J availability for JFK-LAX and PHL-LAX.
So he ended up flying DOH-LHR (with QR ?) and then LHR-LAX with AA.
Got in 6hrs late and received a compensation of USD 800.
