M&M Miles are only available on rail journeys when travelling on a 'code-share' train operated by DB and also carrying an LH flight number.

These are now only between Cologne main station (QKL) and FRA (Frankfurt Airport DB station) and between Stuttgart main station (can't remembr the LH code) and FRA (Frankfurt Airport DB station).

The trains start and finish elsewhere; a number of seats in a designated 1st class carriage are sold as C class by LH, and seats in a designated 2nd class carriage are sold as Y.

Boarding cards must be picked up at LH check-in facilities in the three stations involved; minimum check-in time is 20 mins.

LH personnel travel with the train and check your boarding card against their pax list to record the fact that you took the 'flight'.

This means that unless you have already picked up the boarding card earlier in the day (perhaps part way through a round trip by rail) you cannot board the train that will turn into the AirRail service at an earlier station and then switch from a DB ticket to an LH miles-earning ticket when the train leaves Stuttgart/Cologne/Frankfurt Airport.

As hardhat says, the only way to earn any miles between Hannover and FRA is to book a DB ticket from Hannover to Cologne, get off the train, check in with LH at least 20 mins in advance, and take their train from Cologne to FRA.

It will be faster just to take a DB booking all the way through, but you will earn no miles - depends how important this would be for you.

Separate point - on the DB website (www.bahn.de) there is a button to allow you to change the interface language to English. However, I seem to remember that the instructions for this are in German...
