I logged out of the app and then back in which caused it to refresh.
Have you tried that yet?
I just tried logging out again. The reservation still shows on the app.

Go to .com and make sure it doesn't show up there. U might have to hit remove and then it should flow through to the app
The reservation disappeared from AA.com a bit after I cancelled it (maybe 2 days?). That doesn't seem to impact the app.
