That's not an empty threat. This was a downright miserable experience. I'd easily give up this narrow broken seat with broken IFE/power, terrible food and lousy service for a JAL 787 Y seat and any experience I've had with them.

I just can't agree on Y over J though. I would take a broken UA IPTE seat and terrible food over
any single Y seat. Ten times out of ten. There is no substitute for space when you're jammed in a metal tube for 10+ hours, and even UA's awful 2-4-2 is considerably less dense than any Y cabin.
