thelister so what you want to do is flying HAN-BKK-DOH-XXX then XXX-DOH-BKK ? Then why not simply buying that open jaw ticket ? If a return ticket back to HAN is cheaper, you still can skip the BKK-HAN leg by selecting different flight numbers for DOH-BKK and BKK-HAN, with a long/overnight connection in BKK and they will allow you to short check your luggages to BKK when flying XXX-DOH-BKK.

If you already bought your ticket (Pho Fare ?) with the same flight number for both DOH-BKK and BKK-HAN legs then it would be better to fly up to HAN (and enjoy a bit more of QR excellent service in J)
