Meridien: very inexpensive and good space for the 4 of us with a 2bdrm suite and they def took care of plat status. Area was a bit adult, but nothing that honestly bothered our kids. Food was fair to good. lived on uber...subway was a bit of a walk.

St Regis we had a 2bdrm suite which remains my kids favorite room through alot of asia travel. great service. food was solid to great. area is maybe a bit quiet but hotel connects to a subway which is convenient and as a family we like a slightly out of place location for a bit of a respite from the noise (esp in bangkok)

also...not knowing your familiarity with bangkok, mine is limited to a few weeks, but lumpini park was huge draw for my kids....nice enough park but the monitor lizards at first freaked out and then fascinated my kids...spent hours walking around watching them. lumpini is a short walk from either StR or Meridien, altho a cleaner walk from StR for sure
