After months of delay, the first Aloft in Jakarta (and Indonesia) is opening its doors September 15. Special opening rates at IDR 799,000 ++ (around US$ 60++) include breakfast and double starpoints.

It's in very central area, traditionally an area for backpackers (which makes sense for an Aloft). A mere few min walk from (for me very disappointing) Four Points Thamrin.

I had wanted to try it when it opens, but alas won't be able to make it. Will be moving thousands of km away by end of August for a few months...


PS: Other Alofts are planned to open in Jakarta's Simatupang area in the South, Bandung, and 3 in Bali - Seminyak, Kuta and Ubud.
