Thanks for all the responses. As far as being worth it to upgrade J to F on these flights its more all the other benefits at the airport than the plane experience. When I factor in Flagship checkin and Quantas First Lounge access(seems this flight moved to 5 for now but still worth the walk) in LAX! Flagship checkin and Dining at JFK, etc I find it worth it. We've been married 30 years so sitting together isn't all that necessary but the privacy of F on a redeye is.
One of my other questions was use of the Flagship Lounge and Dining on arrival after a red eye. Would we have access then? Would be nice to have a shower, get a good breakfast and relax before going to our hotel.
