Seizures - notify airline or no?
My husband has seizures related to a brain tumor and while they're generally under control, he's been having a fairly seize-y few weeks. We're flying UA J EWR-IAH-MID in a week or so and I'm curious if I should let the airline know it's possible he could seize in air or not. I've read some conflicting advice from various Epilepsy organizations.
His seizures are generally brief but they are fully generalized with arm/leg movement, and I know they can look scary to the uninitiated. I'll sit on the aisle so the most he might do is kick the seatback in front of him or spill a drink on himself.
He is fully cleared to fly by his neuro-oncologist (letter in hand) and we will have rescue Atavan on hand if needed to break a seizure. I'm just curious if I should forewarn the airline, or make a quiet comment to the crew on boarding... or leave it alone entirely?
Mods, if this is in the wrong forum, apologies. Wasn't sure where to post.
