A few years ago, I was checking in at the NYC Marquis. The only working computers were in the back offices and the check-in lines were pretty long. Staff were taking IDs and credit cards to the back to check in the guests and to process room keys. During the wait, they were handing out glasses of champagne.

My first room was still occupied. My second room didn't have a door latch (it did have the deadbolt). My third room was fine. When I went back down for the second time (to get a key for the third room) the check in staff took pity on me...20k points.
