I would be upset if I were a driver and you hopped in for a 1KM ride. Should have told him right away that you would throw in a nice tip. Otherwise the guy is working for free. They basically lose $ on 1km trips if they have to wait in line for the next customer.
That's ridiculous. They signed up for the job. If they have a problem with their pay, they should take it up with Uber... not with the passenger. Why should the passenger have to bribe the driver to receive the services they already paid for?!
