The Northern Lights lounge is ready, so why not the BA lounge? What is stopping a BA lounge being ready long before May 2018?
Is it just yet more penny pinching from BA, or is there something more strategic going on - e.g. trying to gauge whether it's worth spending money on a dedicated lounge...?
On the lounge readiness, the new BA lounge area "skeleton" has been fitted out by the airport as part of the terminal refurbishment. It is BA themselves who have chosen to delay the fit-out to their specifications and opening until May 2018.
From my experience recently there would be capacity for BA silvers in the Norther Lights Lounge, except perhaps for the red eye flights first thing (and its £20 if you want to pay to enter BTW).
