Regardless of whether it is a "connection" on one ticket or on two separate tickets, the transfer process is the same. The question is how likely is that process at BEY to go smoothly or not, given (what I assume to be) turnaround on the same plane (eg QR 420 to QR 421).
The separate tickets/connection thing is a real bugbear of mine. People are always asking whether the quoted MCT is sufficient and only then realise that there is no protection offered to people who self-construct these itineraries and then miss what they think is their connecting flight. We regularly get people posting here for the first time that airline X is the worst in the world because they left the OP stranded.
