I did some more investigations too. It is correct, the flight MUC-DXB is via Emirates but with QF flight number (QF-8050). The other both flights DXB-Mel and MEL-CHC are by Qantas. Arrival and departure of flights in MEL is Terminal 2.

But you are right. The flight duration is 26h to New Zealand and back 28h. I never had a+24h flight so it was new for me that there could be issues…

Well, I decided to do not make me crazy. On the first flight to New Zealand I will have 2:20h transit time in MEL. Only the flight back to Europa has the short transit time of 1:20h. I will not cancel the booking...

I will ask again during check-in process in Germany and hopefully the bags will be tagged through.
