Well, everyone to their liking. Just don't complain here when Scoot or another LCC cancels the flight on the last minute, or a delay on them makes you miss your long haul flight, or they reschedule the flight by 12 hours or other funny stuff

Personally I fly LCC's all the time, but never if I've a reasonably close (read: Same day) connection to catch. Also, for luggage that is "borderline big", and especially too heavy, I'd not gamble with a LCC. Part of their business model is to catch people having too big/heavy luggage, and slap some nice fees on them.

Also, SQ owning any other company will NOT help you at all if something goes belly up.

My point of view is that it's great to teach children the value of money, but that's the wrong place to do it.
