Update:-
Now sitting on the later flight to Madrid. Don't have boarding cards for Madrid to Heathrow yet but told to collect them at Madrid.

I have also been given 3 (yes three!) compensation coupons which I've been told can be exchanged for 250 euros each at the Iberia desk in Madrid. Let's see if it's that easy
