I've always felt that the cabin crew are invariably the most (although not the only !) important factor in determining how enjoyable a longhaul flight turns out to be - and you clearly had an excellent team. That, and your comfy seat, were two big positives ^

OTOH, such a pity that your dinner experience was so disappointing in terms of both quality and the long delay ; all the more so, given that you were understandably looking forward so much to your first flight in First. Certainly sounds like the couple seated opposite you were far from happy !

I personally tend to set fairly ordinary expectations for airline food across ALL classes, and ALL carriers. Sometimes the expectations are exceeded, sometimes not. Realistically, the constraints & limitations of an onboard galley mean that perfectly-prepared hot meals can never be assured - or at least not to the extent they can be in a highly-regarded restaurant. Hopefully you will be a little more impressed with the catering on your return sector.

Hope you all have a great time in Singapore.
