Currently JW properties list indicate that the oldest JW in USA except for DC, is Atlanta which is built in 1988. From my research also Without reservation by Bill Marriott, Marriott only until recently ( after 2000) started to promote JW as an independent brand with Ritz and bvlgari into the "Luxury hotel group" ( I don't know that this meant") ,because at the time Marriott wants to expand in luxury market .

So , anybody knows is there any other JW in 1980s and 1990s? Were there only 2 or 3 JW before 2000 in domestic USA?

It looks like most people already know what JW is and what can we expect from it. If Marriott never promoting JW as a brand in 80s and 90s , but only positioned it as part of the flagship Marriott hotels,why would people already familiar with it in the early 2000s?
