Maybe they expected it would be a QR aircraft (like it was the other day)

There is a strike on so I'd give them a bit of leeway

In this particular case the information they've given to you does indeed appear to be accurate.
I think his point is that the scheduled arrival time of the Rome flight is only 5 minutes before the scheduled departure of the Stockholm flight, so it can't have been the originally intended aircraft
