Any insight on whether this will be a huge blow to our trip? We had a travel agent book this hotel and among other things to make wedding planning easier on us. I would think we have the ability to change hotels. Any thoughts on whether we should consider another resort or deal with the construction/maintenance that will be going on?
Depends. If your dates are set in stone (and it sounds like that might be the case), you're not going to find a hotel with a salt water lagoon anywhere else on the island (as far as I know), so I'm not sure what you would accomplish by changing hotels. If your dates are flexible and the salt water lagoon seems like something you would enjoy, then you might want to change them. Regardless, considering all the great things on the island and this hotel, I would not call this a "huge blow" to your trip. YMMV.
