Welcome to Flyertalk Fife_Flyer, and welcome to the BA board, extra greetings from another EDI traveller.

It is the travel agent that is responsible for sorting out the schedule change. They are probably correct that they no longer can directly control the ticket, but they need to call their BA contact to refix the connection. That's hassle for them, but it is the system. If you really can't get any further with the TA then eventually BA agents have been known to intervene, but formally you would need to wait until 24 hours before departure before BA owns the ticket.
