While I'm certainly no expert on this, I did some quick research a couple of days ago when potentially faced with a transit time in BEY of 60 minutes or less, due to delayed QR flights.
Even though I had a mobile boarding pass for the second flight (on A3), I opted not to chance it, based on a couple of reports I'd read on the internet (eg One Mile at a Time). Without a boarding pass in hand you could be struggling, but happily for me, I really don't have the first hand experience.
Thankfully QR came to the rescue, after I asked them very nicely, and reissued my ticket from DOH to Athens, which is where I was headed to.
