But Fliar, IIRC you are *G on other program, so you should have access to *G lounge regardless. You may need to argue with attendant to let you in - having a printout of relevant rule will help. See the rules on www.staralliance.com for example.

I guess then the question becomes: is this considered as the domestic leg of an international flight. Considering it's straight through from AKL-LAX-JFK I guess it probably is. (?)

You're right, of course, I can use one of the other *G lounges at LAX. Flying domestically which one would you (and others) recommend from LAX (not sure which terminal UA domestic leaves from)?
