In the context of "home airline" the other thing I find interesting is that ULTI actually isn't a super-level of FlyingBlue, but only for two of FlyingBlue airlines. Just checked my card, where it says that FlyingBlue is the FFP of AF, KL, AirCalin, HOP!, KenyaAirways, TAROM, transavia. But to achieve ULTI status the flights have to be on KL, AF, and its subsidiaries (HOP!, not sure about Transavia). Or can one be ULTI by flying a lot on KenyaAirways and TAROM?
As a comparison with HONCircle (just because I am familiar with that one as people might have figured by now): M&M is the FFP for Lufthansa, Austrian, Brussels Airlines, LOT, Swiss, Adria Airways, Luxair, Air Dolomiti, Croatia Airlines. Flights in Business and First Class on *any* of these carriers count towards the HON status, and all these airlines issue HON cards. The way it works there is that by default people get a Lufthansa-branded card, with the exception of people residing in Switzerland (who get a LX-branded card), Austria (who get a OS-branded card), Belgium (who get an SN-branded card) - not sure about Luxair, LOT, Croatia and Adria, maybe they also issue cards with their own logo for people residing in those countries.
