It makes me particularly sad that some of you can't tell the difference between an assault and a fight. Folks, can't we be civil to each other? Can't FTer's discuss the ideas without attacking the posters?
As discussed many times above and in other threads, the issue of suite upgrades has been beaten to death.
There is no need for further discussion on that issue, let alone hold some sort of nonsensical competiton that is in no way scientific -- because, at bottom, besides the other pitfalls identified by MIKEM and others, such a competition is solely based on certain individuals deciding to self-report their experiences, while others -- and likely they are far more numerous -- are more likely to
not self-report their results, and therefore, those that would report would provide a very skewed population to draw one's results.
I am glad that there finally now is a call by one of those who contributed greatly to the unending presentation of this issue to the Marriott FT readership to cease and desist, and I for one, applaud it.
If others, feel that my participation on this forum has been to benefit myself at the expense of others, you will be happy to know that I already had advised Randy, and others, that I no longer will be posting to this forum, other than to ask general questions that may assist myself in matters that will concern my upcoming stays at Marriott family properties.
Should any of you wish to discover either promotions or special packages that I may come across in the future, you will have to private e-mail me, as I no longer will be posting them on this board (
Fantastic New Orleans Rate Code! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...ferrerid=17411) --as I have been accused of only seeking to show how stupid you can be -- and, I might add, no one has come to my defense with respect to this bald faced lie --
whereas I think a search is in order to review just how my advesaries have helped the overall general readership of the Marriott forum in the recent past -- aside from their constantly posting their unhappiness with the Marriott suite upgrade policy as it applies only to Platinum members, which, of course, has now culminated in Marriott making a sweeping declaration that where there once was ambiguity concerning this issue (and some of you did happen to obtain such an upgrade), there shall no longer be any such question on the issue as suite upgrades are specifically exempted from elite benefits to be conferred on Marriott Rewards members.
As I noted in my e-mail to Randy, talk about a return on one's efforts!
Thank you and good bye.
