If that is the period being looked at I am probably good to qualify already at $10k if for a full Jan to Dec, I don't see how they make the cut in time for the end of Dec current expiry.
If selectin n.n %age of Ambassadors for RA based on total 2017 $$$ spend, IHG won't have that $$$/EQP figure on Dec 1st so can't/won't need review one month early any more. IHG definitely stated RA program is annular
So much easier from now on for IHG I.T. simplistic-check to just promote/qualify for RA the required top n.n %age of Ambassadors based of yearend IC earned EQPs of all Ambassadors. (A bit like for Spire, Platinum rach new calendar year)
I feel for all of us, as we lack the empirical knowlege from 2010 or earlier we had before of 55/20/3 becoming 60/20/3 then probably 75/30/3 and we don't want to miss out on RA by a measly us$500-1000 underspend, so it is likely borderline RAs will ere on side of caution and "overspend/overqualify" which is exatly what IHG want.
I think this years wiki renewal spend values will be more meaningful that last year, when rules changed midyear on the RA scheme.
RA qual/renewal could be handled like IHG did regards 2016 RAs that were expiring 31st Dec 2016 using spending period period Jan2016-Dec2016. IHG could also renew like under old method with a review 1month before expiry for months Dec16-Nov17.
IHG simply left the RA flagg on our accounts without extending the RA expiry date into January (1st - 3rd), then on 4th Jan 2017, set those that qualified/renewed as RA to Dec2017 expiry, based on Jan16-Dec16 12month earning period.

Of course curious thing is IHG App rotated cards showing expiry as 1st Dec 2017 though I think that is just an IT error
