I carry a super large gaming backpack that can accommodate a 17" laptop and perhaps a small dog. Not sure if it 85L but it is large. I do not use a 17" laptop but sometimes need to lug samples between hotel and customer site, etc. No issues. No one mentions it, no one sizes it and no one weighs it. Then again I have seem Amazing Race style backpacks on board so i guess mine is smaller in comparison.
