This shouldn't come as a surprise when seated at the exit row. What you gain in legroom, u lose in privacy and personal space when situated near the galley or the lavatory.
I'm surprised that passengers were using the lav "all flight long".
IME once meal service has ended, & the cabin lights dimmed, most pax would go to sleep.
