My wife, self and 2 children are traveling to EDI next month and we are waitisted for the upgrade, unfortunately we are on separate locator numbers because I only have 6 electronic VIP's and will be using a paper VIPOW and miles to upgrade myself - according to AA they can't "combine" our reservations because I'm using different methods to upgrade.

Agent tells me that I'll be a higher priority because of my status and the chances are much lower that the family will be upgraded UNLESS we are all on the same locator and the only way to be on same locator is for me to use all electronic VIPS - does anyone know if this is accurate, or if there is anything else I can do to try to increase the chances of getting higher priority for the family for the upgrade?

And yes I've already posted in coupon connection to see if I can rustle up 2 more e-vips
