I think it's definitely the case that the same hotel brand is normally a step below the European equivalent and two steps below the Asian one.
Agreed. I've stayed at one of the best: Nanjing CP with a great suite and wonderful breakfast; then, nearly as good the CP Century Park Shanghai with a great Jr. Suite and good club F+B both breakfast and evening; then, better than average CP Wangfujing, nice room and club access with a decent enough breakfast, then late afternoon out to the duck place near the GH so no evening cocktails; then, just OK, CP MAD with a nice large room, at least for Europe; and finally, the CP Concord, CA near my son's house, cheap either on points or paid rates, at least on the weekends for paid rates. They still give me free breakfast, though they always say they dropped that benefit some time ago.
Definitely Asian CP's are the best and US CP's the lowest rated.
