F/B - yes, a little disappointing. $35 fish sandwich on the resort pales in comparison to $10 fish sandwich in the city.
Funny, I was thinking first of Haualalai...which has 243 rooms. Lanai has 217 rooms. I'd say all of the FS in Hawaii are pretty big, and that all of them lack for the service level that is more expected of FS elsewhere. For all the grief given in the Luxury Forum to StR, I found the service at StR Princeville to be as good as or better than that of FS Hualalai...and definitely better than either FS Lanai properties (or the Halekulani or Kahala on Oahu).

I also think FS food/beverage is far weaker at most properties and resorts than most want to admit--especially in the Pacific resorts region. Wherever I've been to a FS and another StR in the same markets, especially in those resort areas, the FS is the weakest in food/beverage. That's true for Hawaii (StR Princeville was better food/beverage than FS Hualalai that ran out of rum, FS Manele Bay Lanai that served warm Pinot Noir bottles and overcooked burgers, FS Koele Lanai that served cold food and undercooked/overcooked food for pavilion anniversary dinner), Punta Mita (StR Carolina restaurant far superior than anything at FS), Bora Bora (FS guests frequently came over to StR for Lagoon fine dining and other StR dining options), etc.
