Just been on a flight LHR-CPT. Normally try to sit on 1A and 1K when travelling with Mrs C. This was a late booking (preferred seats already taken) and also a night flight and we therefore opted for 4EF.

I was surprised that there was no designated overhead storage space for E and F seats. I had previously thought that only the 1A and 1K seats that did not have overhead storage space. I am sure it was not my imagination - the seat appeared narrower that I remember of other seats. There was also no privacy at all from the aisle traffic.

Everything considered, I concluded that 62A and 62K club class seats were definitely better than 4E and 4F seats in First. Are there differences in 747 configuration that could account for the difference? What are other people's views - comparing 62 and 4 seats on the 747?
