Plenty of discussion about this, and indeed some here with a legal background share your opinion that there's an argument to be made for delay/cancellation compensation when it's the airline's own staff on strike. However, that argument has not yet been put before any court that would create a legal precedent, so if you wish to take legal action you'd probably be the guinea pig - and there's a very good chance you'd lose and be out of pocket for legal expenses.
