I was due to fly BA297 LHR/ORD on Tuesday Aug 1st with my family (wife and two kids). I was notified today it was cancelled, and we have been rebooked the morning flight the next morning, Aug 2nd.
Do I have any chance of getting EU261 for this? It seems to me that a very long running strike is not 'extraordinary' but what is BA saying about this?
And the timing of the new flight will mean a hotel stay the night before. What are my chances of getting this reimbursed by BA?
Many thanks.
Duty of care for hotel and meals, etc. (Hotels usually need to be below £200/night unless you can show there are no other options for less). Other compensation, no, and the regulation fairly explicitly exempts strikes regardless of how ordinary they have become.
