I have booked my girlfriend and her cousin for two nights at PDG on points earlier this summer. Not only were there no commentaries on their college age or backpacks... they also scored a bottle of good red wine given my PLAT status.

Remember, all kinds of people stay at upscale properties... and not all of them happen to be mature professionals or have a nasty habit of wearing a country club attire 24/7. A hotel (especially one being part of a major chain) would be trully exposing themselves to a barrage of complaints and loss of loyalty for treating people poorly based on their age and style.

P.S. Overall very good service. My girfriend commented something about a preference for being shot rather than ever living in a place with PDG's furniture style.
