I'm elderly and years ago I asked a flight attendant whether it was appropriate to take a blanket and they said it was fine. It's been so long I can't remember which airline. I have only traveled in business class for the last quarter of a century.
I assumed it was the same for all airlines and have never been challenged. Mostly I would use them for my small dog when traveling before he passed away. A lovely little Min Pin.
