Stayed here about a week ago in high season. I was very impressed with the property in general.
As a platinum, upgraded to a prestige room - only two rooms per floor with an odd route to get there, so very quiet. The room was huge, but I was not a fan of the decor. It made me think of an American suburban hotel trying to present itself as a "lodge". For the history of the building, I would have preferred more natural stone and less cheap, poorly constructed pine.
We received a welcome platter of deserts that were delicious. Breakfast was in the restaurant and we had full buffet as platinums, so that is apparently a change from previous experiences posted above.
Each night we had cocktails in the lounge - very friendly staff and some nice cocktails to take a break from our non-stop tour of the beers and wines of France. We also dined in the restaurant one night - the food was good (and very reasonably priced), but this was the one place where service was an issue - slow and terse.
We arrived to a very pleasant welcome. I speak some French, but the hotel check-in process is much easier for me in English, so after a simple parlez-vous anglais, Kenny assisted us. Perfect English and so friendly and helpful. Sightseeing tips, restaurant recommendations, walked us to the room through the maze of halls and elevators. Others were friendly as well, but Kenny was above and beyond.
Rouen is a smaller city, and a client of mine that lives there warned me that it was not much to see. I was very impressed, however. The Jeanne d'Arc sights are interesting, the cathedral with projections was fun, and we were able to jump on the metro and grab a car for the day and head to the cost easily to see the countryside. I would certainly return!
