It should happen automatically, you don't need to call normally, the apparent EF seat blocking is actually handled by the relevant module of Amadeus Seating, where your status should open up the full cabin. At 3 days before departure, Theoretical Seating may block the next seat along, but usually DEL operates full in WT.
I just checked some BA flights I have in September. There are some blocked seats showing on EF. Those same seats also show as occupied on the BA seat selector and won't let me select them
