I find the iphone app to be pretty fast most times including right now. 5 minutes is insane. My guess is that you have a bunch of other programs open hogging all of your memory. Close candy crush and try again.

Ipad app is a waste of time (and space) so i deleted and just use the web site directly through Firefox.
