I am not sure I agree with this analysis re. John Lewis or the idea that by going through this kind of change BA can transform itself into an organisation with a similar structure to a LCC or a Primark.

I think there is something to be said for the definite trend for hollowing out of the mid-market space in a lot of industries though (everything is becoming either premium or budget).
