They really have that requirement when you buy tickets on their web site.
Also, you would think they could only request this at the point of departure. And AC at YSJ won't ask.
Anyway, I would be extremely surprised if it were an issue. And in the worst case scenario, you could just offer to pay the $230 again, with the understanding that they'll pay it back to you when they confirm the original payment. Not a big deal really.
Thanks for the reply - I was thinking because I didn't buy from them it shouldn't be an issue, but for because over the last year or so I remember someone asking me for the CC I bought the "ticket / service" with and I think I am just assuming it was when I was flying home from Singapore on another Aeroplan rewards ticket and just thinking I was lucky I had that card with me. But I could be wrong, it could of been another situation all together - maybe buying something elsewhere?? or a hotel reservation??
