I used to feel like that too.

But UA has screwed up seat, food, and drinks so much that now much prefer LH or BA Y over UA E+ (not to even mention UA E-).
You get a bearable seat, proper food, and booze.

For TATL LH Y is perfectly fine on the 380 or the 350. I'd avoid the 747 and 340 if possible though.
