But as long as we are on the subject, if the OP had instead been flying most any EU carrier into T1, how does that work?
Is it walking groundside to T2 then re-clearing security? Would they need to do that US bound security check as they entery T2? That could make 2 hours very tight (which was my concern for OP).
I am pretty sure there's no way around the 'special' (and abbreviated) 2nd security check for U.S. bound flights. He'll have to do that either way as it's literally right before the U.S. CBP station and I'm not aware of any bypass for it. Ahead of a bank of flights there can be a not insignificant line forming there.
