What an ignorant statement.

If I have a 3 hour connection at LHR I could either take a nap in a lounge, or, according to you, spend an hour in line for immigration, take a shuttle to a hotel on the Bath Road ( perhaps 30-45min, depending on waiting time) check in get to a room, turn around and check out to wait 30-45 min to catch a shuttle back to LHR to clear security (some days 30-60 min) and make conformance.

Our 3 hour connection has just evaporated, possibly into negative time and risk of missing the flight and we have had zero time for sleeping. It's not being cheap to not get a hotel, it's being smart.
